Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

Historic Little Washington is one of coastal North Carolina's most charming river towns — the "Original Washington," the first city named for George Washington, set where the Tar and Pamlico Rivers meet. You're on quiet, tree-lined North Market Street, under a mile from the Pamlico River waterfront boardwalk and a wonderfully walkable downtown. Stroll to award-winning restaurants like The Hackney (farm-to-table dining and a craft gin distillery in a restored bank), Bank Bistro & Bar, and Grub Brothers Eatery, plus waterfront spots with live music and river breezes. Downtown also brims with galleries, boutiques, antiques, coffee shops, the historic Turnage Theatre, and the North Carolina Estuarium — the world's first. A little farther out, Goose Creek State Park (about 20 minutes) offers hiking, paddling, and cypress-swamp boardwalks, and Historic Bath, North Carolina's oldest town, is a short drive away.

Guest Access

Guests have the private studio loft and free on-site parking to themselves. The loft is above the active Mizpah Chapel; the chapel sanctuary and the rest of the grounds are not part of the rental.

On foot: downtown Washington, the Pamlico River waterfront boardwalk, restaurants, galleries, and shops are all within an easy stroll (under a mile). By car: free on-site parking is included — enter at the driveway at 1118 North Market Street (the same parking area as the Manor guest home at 1114). A car is handy for exploring the wider area; day trips to Goose Creek State Park (about 20 minutes), Historic Bath, and the coast are easy drives. Rideshare and taxis are available but more limited than in a big city, so a car is recommended if you plan to venture out.
